City commission are
Robert R. Blythe, Mike G. Brewer, Michael Bryant, Cameron Scott Gibson, Kay Cosby Jones, John S. McDaniel III,
Doug Parker,
Rita Smart, William Strong, Richard Thomas and
Ian Ward. The primary dutues of the Richmond City Commission are to
enact ordinances and make policies for our community. The Richmond City Commission is elected for a two-year term. The Mayor of
Richmond
is elected for a four-year term. Together the Mayor of Richmond and the Richmond City Commission are called the
Richmond Board of Commissioners. You can obtain an agenda package each Monday at City Hall before the Richmond City
Commission meets at City Hall. Richmond City Commission meetings are broadcast live on Government Access channel 12 and

This year (2008) there are eleven candidates appearingr on the ballot in a non-partisan primary. The top eight candidates receiving the most votes will
appear on the ballot in the November 4th election where the four candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to a two-year term.
